Detailing Services

Immaculate detailing is a full paint restoration service to restore your car to (usually better than) showroom standard and can also be used for show-car preparation.

We have set out below full details of what this service entails and the stages invovled. For this service Immaculate use only the best products that we have tried and tested personally to ensure the the very high standard of results we expect from this service.

Due to the labour-intensive nature of this service and the time required to complete, your vehicle will usually be required for 2-3 days. As the service, and amount of time needed, can vary enormousley for different vehicles and paint conditions we will only be able to provide an accurate quote upon inspection of your vehicle. However, as an example, prices for a three-door hatchback will be in the region of £400-500 depending on paint condition. Larger vehicles will be priced from £500-750 depending on size, type and paint condition. Please contact us to discuss your exact requirements.

1. During this service all work is carried out under 1000W halogen lights,as these will show up any imperfection in the paint which enables you to see the level of correction required.

2. The vehicle will be washed with PH neutral shampoo & then the preperation for the 1st stage will begin.

3. The vehicle has to be prepared properly, which involves masking up all the trim, badges and exterior plastics using a safe tape that will leave no glue deposits behind.

4. The 1st stage of any paint correction, and the most important one, is to clay the whole vehicle. This will remove any bonded contaminates that remain after washing & will leave the paintwork feeling like glass.

5. The 2nd stage is the paint correction, which involves removing all swirl marks and hologramming. This is the most labour intensive part of the job, more so on german cars as they have very hard clear coats and can take up to 4 hours per pannel.

6. The 3rd stage is to apply a glaze which will add depth to the paintwork. The exact glaze used by Immacualte will vary depending on the colour of the vehilce.

7. The 4th stage is to seal the paintwork using a paint sealant. This will be applied in 2 layers leaving 4-6 hours between coats.

8. Finally a high quality carnuba wax will be applied in multiple layers. This will add a wet look on darker colours and a laser sharp shine on lighter coloured paints.

Sadly it is becoming increasingly common for brand new cars to be spoilt by poor preparation at dealerships prior to handover. This is unacceptable in all cases, but quite frankly unbelievable in the case of prestige and performance cars. Main dealers are notorious for bad machine polishing, using poor quality products and incorrect techniques, which cause holograms and mop trails.

Is it ever worth paying out hundreds of pounds to have a car professionally detailed? In general, and especially if the car in question is a prestige or performance vehicle, then the answer to this question is yes, as the residual value of vehicles is dependent not only on age and mechanical condition, but also on the condition of the bodywork, wheels and interior. In many cases the resale value of any vehicle, but particularly prestige or performance vehicles, can be significantly increased by presenting it to potential buyers in Immaculate condition, both inside and out.
